Talia Nissimyan joins CW as counsel
September 2024
CW is delighted to welcome counsel Talia Nissimyan to the team. Nissimyan specializes in high-stakes, high-profile civil and criminal matters, particularly complex commercial and civil impact litigation and sensitive investigations. She has represented judges, universities, scholars, celebrities, startups, and enterprise-level companies in law-defining matters before all levels of federal, state, and administrative courts.
Most recently, Nissimyan served as associate general counsel for Shopify, driving strategy across the full lifecycle of the company’s most important and multijurisdictional commercial, privacy, class action, financial services, and intellectual property disputes. Prior to joining Shopify, Nissimyan was a senior associate at Kaplan Hecker & Fink LLP and an associate at Ropes & Gray LLP.
"Cohen Williams is a rare combination of exceptional litigators who are also remarkable, kind people, and there is no wonder it has become one of the premier litigation boutiques in the area," Nissimyan said. "My experience in house provided a unique lens on representing clients in bet-the-company matters, and how to work with them to mitigate that risk altogether. I am thrilled to be able to apply those skills for CW clients as I return to private practice with such an ideal group of colleagues and friends."
