Michael represents clients in complex commercial litigation. He has attained successful outcomes for individuals and institutions in state and federal court, domestic and international arbitrations, and government enforcement proceedings. Michael’s experience is broad-based, spanning multiple industries—including entertainment, finance, and pharmaceutical—as well as a wide array of civil disputes. Clients dealing with high-stakes legal challenges such as partnership disputes, torts, and class actions rely on Michael for personalized, detail-oriented representation.
As a veteran of two leading litigation firms, Michael has hands-on experience running cases from start to finish. In addition to acting as the primary point of contact for clients and opposing counsel, he has developed litigation strategy, conducted and managed all aspects of discovery, prepared expert reports, taken and defended depositions, and prepared witnesses for trial. Michael particularly excels at written advocacy. He formulates thorough, well-structured briefs that advance his client’s position, whether in support of or opposition to dispositive, discovery, evidentiary, and pre-trial motions.
Before beginning his legal career, Michael provided jury consulting services to law firms handling litigation in state and federal court. In this capacity, he served “in the trenches” with trial teams, conducting venue-specific mock trials, guiding jury selection, and drafting voir dire questions. As a practicing litigator, Michael draws on this experience to advise on the strategy, research, and techniques needed to obtain successful results at trial.
Michael has devoted ample time to bono work. Notably, he helped secure a landmark victory on behalf of approximately 400,000 veterans and their caregivers, convincing the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit to recognize the claimants’ right to appeal adverse benefits decisions.
Prior to joining CW, Michael practiced at a Los-Angeles based litigation firm and in the New York office of a large international firm.
